Football Draft Strategy: Build an XI That Fits Together
A perfect season starts with eleven good decisions. These practical UndefeatedXI tips focus on the things you can control: your formation, the roles you fill, position fit, and how you use limited rerolls.

1. Choose a formation you can fill
Look at the available positions before starting. A wide system needs players who can play its wide slots; a narrow system needs enough central options. Your formation is a commitment, so track which roles remain open as the draft progresses.
2. Protect natural position fit
Check the position-fit label before placing a player. A strong name in an unsuitable slot can reduce the team’s effectiveness. Compare how much a pick improves the actual open slot rather than comparing two player ratings in isolation.
3. Secure goalkeeping and midfield balance
Do not spend every strong prompt on attackers. A natural goalkeeper and defensive cover matter. Add someone who can win the ball, someone who can control play, and enough creativity to supply the front line. Check the final tactical report to see which roles were missing.
4. Save rerolls for a meaningful problem
Before rerolling a team or era, look through the eligible options and open slots. A less famous player may solve a real need. Use a reroll when the prompt cannot provide a useful fit, and remember that another roll can also be worse.
5. Learn from the final report
Compare the outcome with the tactical strengths and weaknesses. Change one thing on the next run, such as formation or when you pick a goalkeeper. Simulation includes randomness, so judge a strategy across several runs rather than treating one result as proof.
